The Termidor-nator Is Back

Termites cause billions of dollars in major damage throughout the country every year.  Almost every home and even the trees around your home and on your property can fall victim to termites, the prime method of treating termites can be costly sometimes, but if you use the right tools and know how to use them, you can do the job yourself and save a ton of money.  This article will try to give you comprehensive steps on how to efficiently, safely and easily treat your home against any termites.

One of the best termicides to use against termites is Termidor.  Along with this there are many different guides on the internet can help you and tell you how to inspect your home for any termites.  Normally you will inspect the foundation of your home, look for any ‘mud tubes’ or strange mud structures.  Another sign of termite presence are piles of small wings.  These piles of wings and tubes are major signs of termite activity, termites will grow wings and fly to a new place every spring to establish a new nest, if you see these flying termites (they will look like small grains of black rice with wings) then you will likely have a termite colony in or near your home.  The termites will need to use mud tubes to move to and from the ground to reach the wooden structure of the building they want to eat.  Whether you have seen these signs of termites or not, you can still treat your home with a good termicide like Termidor and it will protect your home for about five to ten years.

The most popular and best method requires you to use the ‘trench’ method, this will take about one or two days depending on the varying size of your home or building to complete.  Measure around your home and it’s perimeter along the foundation wall, this will help tell you how much termidor you will need to mix and pour around the home or building.  You should use pair of leather gloves to help protect your hands and make the digging part of this work easier (trust me, gloves help).  You should also wear a good sturdy pair of shoes with strong soles, they will help with digging, you will also need a trenching shovel, if you try to use a different kind of shovel then it will be a lot harder.  A trench shovel is narrower than others and it will be easier for you to dig the trench around your home.

Any areas with concrete slabs that are next to your home will need the soil under them treated too.  Plan on drilling holes every three feet into any slabs that are immediately adjacent to your home.  This needs to be done so that you can inject termidor through these holes.  You can pour termicide into these holes so that it will soak into the soil under the slab.  This soil under the concrete slabs will often settle and leave void spots underneath it.  Remember to follow all directions and precautions found on any pest control product label, including Termidor SC.
