Termidor SC Termite Killer

Termites can cause major damage on nearly any home and even the trees on your property, but the prime method of treatment can be costly, but with the right tools and know how, you can do it yourself. This article will give you comprehensive steps to efficiently and safely treat your home against termites. There are many guides on the internet that will tell you how to inspect your home for termites. Generally you should inspect the foundation of your home and look for any ‘mud tubes’ or piles of small wings. These wings and tubes are signs of termite activity, termites grow wings and fly to a new location every spring, if you see these flying termites then you may have a termite colony near your home. The termites use mud tubes to move from the ground into the wooden structure of your home. Whether you have found termites or not, you can treat your home with a termicide like Termidor and your home will be protected for about ten years.
This requires the use of a ‘trench’ method, this will take up about one or two days of work depending on the size of your home. Measure the perimeter of your home along the foundation wall, this will tell you how much termite killer you will need. You will need a pair of leather gloves to protect your hands and make this digging work easier (trust me, it does). A sturdy pair of shoes with a good sole will also be needed and a good trenching shovel. These shovels are narrower than others and it makes it easier to dig the trench you’ll need to make around your whole home. For any areas with concrete slabs next to your home, you’ll need to treat the soil under these slabs as well. Plan to drill holes every three feet in the slab directly adjacent to your home, you will need to ‘inject’ a termicide like Termidor through these holes. You can pour termicide into these soil and let it soak into the soil under the slab. The soil under the concrete slabs often settles and leaves void spaces under the concrete slabs, you will need to use a foaming device or agent to fill up these spaces. You can save time by using the shovel head as a measure for the depth of your trench.
Follow the directions of your termicide agent and properly dilute the solution for the trench. This mixture is poured into the trench and left to soak through the soil, make sure to evenly spread the mixture around your home. If you have any Termidor left over you can use it for spot treatments inside void spaces in your home.
